One of the better summer beverages so far has been this release from Barrique Brewing & Blending in Nashville. A blended sour with Tennesee grown watermelon and nectarines. Light and crisp with a wonderful taste of watermelon. Watermelon is a rare taste to come through in a beer without it tasting like Jolly Rancher. It’s the rind that actually makes its presence known in this beer to great effect.
The beer is well-balanced, with some nice acidity and a delicate hop touch. There is a tbit of citrus nestled between the bitterness of the rind and the sweetness of the nectarine. Wish I had another bottle of this one.
